Assembly and care

YESHOMY furniture arrives flat-packed, with the tools and numbered parts in the box. Most pieces go together in well under an hour; the TV stands and vanities are the longer ones, and go faster with two people and a clear floor.

A smoother build

• Lay every part out and match it to the instruction sheet before you pick up a screwdriver. Five minutes here saves twenty later.
• Start every screw by hand and leave them loose until the piece is square, then tighten in sequence. Fully tightening as you go is what leaves a cabinet that rocks.
• Assemble on carpet or the flattened cardboard, not a hard floor, to protect the finish.
• For lit vanities, test the LED strip and the socket before the mirror goes on, because it is far easier to reach the wiring then.

Keeping it looking new

• Wipe with a barely-damp cloth and dry it off. Engineered wood does not love standing water at the seams.
• Use coasters and felt pads. The laminate is durable but not indestructible, and heat rings show.
• Re-check the screws after the first few weeks. New furniture settles, and a half-turn keeps everything solid for years.
